Porcelain Rub-ons

OK - weird title, I know. Sometimes that 's the hardest part - coming up with a title for each post!

So tonight our Stamp Club meets and this month we are playing with Rub-Ons, so here is one of the cards we're making. The original inspiration comes from lsasseville, but I've changed it up to incorporate the rub-ons.

You, and our Stamp Club members, are getting a sneak peek at some product from the Occasions mini that starts on Saturday.

The ribbon slide is from the new Stylized Hodgepodge Hardware kit - silver and very pretty!

The rub-on is from the A Perfect Day collection of rub-ons and it co-ordinates perfectly with the 5 Petal Flower punch, doesn't it?

The patterned paper is from the Porcelain Prints designer series paper. The other colours used are Blue Bayou and Wasabi Green. I used white craft ink to stamp the greeting and the white gel pen to add a pen-stitched edge. The flower centre is a punch out from the Three For You punch. Bleach Class Last Night

My stamp clubbers were here last night and we had so much fun.

Last night we played (carefully!) with bleach.

In this sample we "inked" up the stamp with bleach by making up a bleach inkpad. When I "stamped" my bleachy pinebranch stamp on Wild Wasabi, the colour that was revealed resembled Sahara Sand, so that's where this colour scheme comes from. The greeting is stamped in Wild Wasabi and layered onto Handsome Hunter. We wrapped the new elasticized silver cord (SO easy to work with) and a green rhinestone brad to finish it off.

On this card, we used an Aquapainter filled with bleach to de-colour parts of these embossed images.

I then used markers to tint the bleached out faces and halos. Isn't this an elegant card?

The technique on this last card was developed by Erika Martin, an American demonstrator and she called it the Bleach Wash technique.

We stamped the image from the Priceless stamp and clear embossed it on Bravo Burgundy. When we washed over it with bleach by brushing a very bleach-laden paintbrush over it, we get great and varied effects. I used this technique on just about every layer of this card and love the weathered feel of the card. Are you sorry you missed this club gathering?
